Dr.Carl Jung – Founder of analytical psychology

Psycho·Geometrics® was inspired by brain chemistry and the work of Swiss Psychiatrist and Psychoanalyst Dr. Carl Jung, the founder of analytical psychology. Analytical psychology then inspired the development of psychometric tests, used to identify and measure one’s characteristics, aptitude or cognitive ability and often used to determine the suitability of a role or job.

The Concept of Psycho·Geometrics®
Psycho·Geometrics® was created Dr. Susan E. Dellinger. She presented her concept as a logical reasoning approach to identify one’s personal communication style based on the selection of one of five geometric shapes. Dr. Dellinger supported her assumption by combining her knowledge of the personal style analysis tests on the current market (MBTI, DISC, Wilson Learning, DrakeBeamMorin) with her doctoral research in the classical Jungian psyche types, left/right brain dominance and the current interpersonal communication models. The result was the creation of five “communication styles,” each with its own distinct traits and characteristics.
  • 1984-1986
The Validation of Psycho·Geometrics®
During a three-year research period, Dr. Dellinger partnered with Dr. Jack Wolf to scientifically validate her work, followed by the development of the Psycho·Geometrics® written assessment and the online version in 2005. To date, more than 40,000 written assessments and 18,000 online assessments have been used by people from 60+ countries. A full research report is available, including the methodology, process, and results of the scientific study.
