1875

The *science* of Psycho·Geometrics® was inspired by Swiss psychiatrist Dr. Carl Jung, born in 1875. In addition to his brief collaboration with Sigmund Freud, the Dr. focused on the collective unconscious. One of five children, He served in the Swiss Army during World War I and continued to refine his philosophy of psychiatry until his death in 1961.

1980's & 90's

Inspired by his work, communications specialist Dr. Susan Dellinger created Psycho·Geometrics® in 1978. The Doctor’s vision is a logical, reasoned approach to identifying one’s personal communication style based on selecting two of five geometric shapes.

Through the middle 80s, Dr. Dellinger validated her hypothesis about the shapes, styles, and definitions. Appearing before hundreds of audiences, thousands participated in a self-report system drawing on adults from various professions, social, economic, and regional groups.

Continuing refinement lead to creating the written Psycho-Geometrics assessment, followed by the online version in 2005. The Psycho·Geometrics® assessment offers companies an alternative to traditional psychometric.

2002

In 2002, University of North Carolina School of Journalism graduate, Susan Hite, was introduced to Psycho·Geometrics® during a GlaxoSmithKline employee event, where she delivered the event’s keynote address. Hite, who recently founded her own professional development training company Hite Resources, arrived early, allowing her to view a presentation of Psycho·Geometrics®. Hite was intrigued by the simplicity and validity of Psycho·Geometrics®, and felt it would be a valuable addition to her Train Your Brain series. A few email exchanges and phone calls later, the 36-year old from Raleigh, North Carolina, headed to Tampa to meet Dr. Dellinger, where the personal and professional relationship began between the two Susans. Hite became a licensed consultant and certified facilitator of Psycho·Geometrics® – and a passionate advocate, not only as a tool to strengthen communication but also to understand and respect differences and leverage the power of diversity.

2002 - 2020

Since 2002 Hite has become a Subject Matter Expert of Psycho·Geometrics® and has worked with over 250 corporations and organizations in nearly every state in the U.S. and in eight countries. She’s delivered and facilitated more than 1,000 keynotes and workshops and has coached hundreds of people, sharing the Psycho·Geometrics® tool.
2002 - 2020

2020 - Now

In 2020, Hite Resources Inc. purchased and rebranded the Psycho·Geometrics® company, launching a new digital platform, an updated written and online assessment, and virtual learning series. The continued goal is helping others strengthen their communication and relationships at work, at home, and in daily interaction with others.
